her period, I would visit her in her new house on days she wasn’t seeing doctors or locked in her closet or hadn’t wedged herself tight between the white wall and the bunk bed and we would swim in her pool, wearing big t-shirts and soccer shorts, diving to the bottom to save her Barbies, who she’d flung there and who, she said each time, were drowning. |

Katherine Fallon attended Bryn Mawr College and received her MFA from Sarah Lawrence College. Her poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Colorado Review, Permafrost, Meridian, Passages North, Rogue Agent, and others. Her chapbook, The Toothmakers’ Daughters, is available through Finishing Line Press. She teaches in the department of Writing & Linguistics at Georgia Southern University, and lives outside of Savannah with her best human, who helps her zip her dresses.
Jia Sung is an artist and educator, born in Minnesota, bred in Singapore, now based in Brooklyn, and received a BFA from RISD in 2015. She is currently a 2018-2019 Smack Mellon Studio Artist and Van Lier Fellow, and an art director at Guernica. Her paintings and artist books have been exhibited across North America, including the Knockdown Center, RISD Museum, Wave Hill, EFA Project Space, Lincoln Center, Yale University, and MOMA PS1, and in publications including Hyperallergic, Jacobin Magazine, Asian American Writers’ Workshop, and The Guardian.
